I Randomly got this anime from a friend, and i found myself desperate for some comedy anime. SOooo, I Tried Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle out & Realised that My Wants were Fulfilled. It Proved to be a GREAT Comedy Anime, With Some Really Great Serious Scenes Too. =)

What Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle is about...
Yoshinaga Futaba won the first prize in a lottery. To be surprised, what she received was an unprecedented animal, gargoyle. At first sight, it looked like a stone statute, but it suddenly began to speak, and it said “I’m a gatekeeper of Yoshinaga”. Futaba went to the antique shop, Totensha, that had given the gargoyle for the first prize in the lottery. However the Owner didn't want it back & Futaba is Forced to Keep the Strange Gargoyle, who has some strange powers too.

How will Futaba's life turn out now with a stone statue that can talk in front of her gate?!

Characters...
There are Many Characters in this anime, So I'll Just introduce the 3 main characters which are usually seen in almost every episode. x)

Gargoyle...
Gargoyle, the strange stone statue that Futaba won in the lottery. It seems to have some strange powers, and it remains at the front of the Yoshinaga's house, being a gatekeeper. Everyday Futaba Mistreats him by kicking him around and punishing him.etc. by the way, he talks too, to both humans and animals. =O

Yoshinaga Futaba...
Yoshinaga Futaba, the younger daughter of the 2 children in the Yoshinaga Household. She is quite tomboy-ish and very rude and violent. She wouldn't even hesitate to kick a stranger. She seems to regret participating in the lottery where she had won gargoyle, but she starts changing and developing as the arrival of Gargoyle, brought the arrival of other characters.

Yoshinaga Kazumi...
Yoshinaga Kazumi, the elder son of the 2 children in the Yoshinaga Household. Despite being a guy, he looks and sounds like a girl, and has even been asked out by guys in his school. He is constantly bullied by his sister about his "queer-ness". Nevertheless, he has responsible characteristics as he is a big brother anyway.

My Review on Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle...
Well, I wasn't really expecting much from this anime, because the title sounded a bit too fictional for me, & the characters were very child-like looking, which made me thought this might have been for children. But Of Course, no anime should be judged based on its animation alone, cause that's really stupid. =_="""

Anyway, I Was Surprised that Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle had More Value than i thought it had. =), Just like how the Gargoyle had more value than Futaba thought it had. But anyways, to start off with, the animation was pretty decent. Though there were times when the art looked really plain, but otherwise, it's usually pretty decent & smooth. =) The Character Designs were pretty good too. Though at first, when i saw all the characters almost looking like 8-10 year olds, i thought that the mother was Futaba's sister, but oh well. =_=. Only the age of the guys could be seen, other than that, the design of the gargoyle and the other characters were really Cool. =) Nothing Spectacular here but No Complaints either. x)

The Sounds were Pretty Good too. The OP & ED themes had Lively Happy Music, sung by the seiyuus themselves. =) & The Seiyuus Really Did a GREAt Job as the voices really fitted the characters very well. x) Gargoyle really sounded like a statue with honour and respect, Futaba, a High-pitched Brat, & her brother, Kazumi's feminine voice. xD. The Seiyuus did a Great Job, the sounds were enjoyable. No Complaints at all. =)

The Storyline is pretty original, i have to say. The characters though, similar personalities have been seen in various animes, but when that combination is put into this story, and with the comedy which was supported by those characters, that's what made Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle Quite a Unique Anime. =)

Though there wasn't any real plot of this anime, no real goal or anything to achieve, but those happy-go-lucky days where events and surprises just pop up and made their lives interesting, and it also brought in and introduced EVEN MORE Characters~! x) A Couple episodes were also based on the owner of the antique shop, Totensha's experiments, which always turned out to have weird outcomes. =P

But really, despite those random situations, there was Always Great Comedy there to Make me Laugh Out Loud when I saw Futaba kicking Gargoyle or Other Random People. x) & i expected there to only be comedy, but Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle surprised me with its serious scenes, and those scenes really developed Futaba's character and the other characters.

Okay, of course, Futaba's character in real life, would be one that's very hard to get along with, and i'm sure there would be some ppl who would hate her guts, but if you just look at this at an enjoyment perspective, it's really funny. so don't expect too much from this anime, but just let everything happen and you'll probably be surprised. =)

I Really enjoyed these 13 episodes, and seriously wanted more. T_T. I really felt as though Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle hasn't really ended, cause the last 2 episodes, which usually, the last few episode of an anime HAS to Have a sort of climax, right? However, Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle probably disappointed me here as the climax episodes weren't all that climax-ed and just weren't powerful enough. =(

Another bad point might be, because there was quite a number of characters there, and not enough time to develop all of them, that kind of tones Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle down a bit. =(

Those might be its bad points, but it's still forgivable, it wasn't all that bad either. I Really Enjoyed Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle & It Was Definitely Worth my Time. I Seriously Wanted MORE~! T_T

Though this anime probably wasn't meant to make you cry, but there were times and scenes in this anime which really touched me quite a lot and i was about to shed a tear. T_T... In my opinion, It has a LOT of Value despite how corny/childish its first impression might be. x)

It's Truly Worth a Watch~! =) So Yeah, If you happen to have nothing to watch, why not give Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle a try? =) It wouldn't hurt, right? (maybe Futaba's kicks would in real life) xD

My Rating...
8.75/10
One StarOne StarOne StarOne StarNo Star...

Animation: 8.5
Comment: Decent Animation. The Design for the Characters are Pretty well Done. Nothing Spectacular though, but well enough to support the interesting storyling of Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle. =)

Music/Sounds: 8.5
Comment: Bright Happy OP & ED Theme, it's like this anime was meant for kids. But who cares. The Seiyuus were Really Good too, & the voices fit the characters really well, =) especially Futaba's high-pitched voice. xD

Story: 9
Comment: An Interesting Storyline with Strange Things & Statues that have Lives. Involving Plants, Statues, Alchemy & Magical Powers into this anime. Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle has a Very Interesting Storyline, & a Great Balance of Comedy & Serious Scenes. Sad thing is, what toned this anime done was the fact that it was too short to be anything powerful & the climax (last episode) wasn't powerful enough. =( But It's Still GREAT~!

Characters: 9
Comment: There were Many Interesting Characters throughout the anime. Though not really the kinds that you can relate to, But Still, the characters had very good roles & they Added on to the Great Comedy. =) Without the support of the Characters, this anime wouldn't have any Comedy. & There was quite a bit of character development too, especially on Futaba. =) Too bad this anime wasn't longer, cause i'm sure there could be MORE character development in the other characters too.

Tear Factor:
One Tear...One Tear...One Tear...One Tear...
Comment: There were Scenes that Really Surprised me & Touched Me Quite a Lot. & I thought this was only meant to be a comedy anime. (O_O)

Comedy Factor:
One Laughter...One Laughter...One Laughter...One Laughter...Half Laughter...
Comment: xD I'm Sure EVERY Episode of this Anime will Make you Laugh Out Loud. =D It's Really Funny, & Futaba's Short-temperedness and Kicks Always Make Me Laugh. =D

Excitement/Suspense/Surprising Factor:
One Excitement...One Excitement...One Excitement...Half Excitement...
Comment: There were some Really Surprising Scenes & Twists. But nothing really that would made you Jump off your seat. =/

Meaningful Factor:
One Meaning...One Meaning...One Meaning...Half Meaning...
Comment: Well, it Did have some Meaningful Factors, especially during the scenes of Futaba's Character Development, about making friends and the sadness and losing them. A couple of lessons on respect and kindness to people too. =)

Overall, Yoshinaga-san chi no Gargoyle was a Really Great Anime, Worth my Time Watching. =)
